Hello, my name is Emily, and welcome to InkTread! I founded InkTread in 2017 while studying Textile Design, Development, and Custom Footwear at RMIT University. The name InkTread beautifully symbolizes the blend of my two passions: "Ink" represents the various inks, dyes, and materials I use in textile design, and "Tread" reflects my expertise in footwear design.My interests have always revolved around the creative arts and business management. Growing up, I spent countless hours at my grandparents' home, watching my grandmother breathe new life into old clothes with her sewing machine. Her skill in replacing zippers and elastic bands left a lasting impression on me. As I got older, she taught me how to operate a sewing machine, and by the time I was in year 12, I was creating elaborate costumes for theatre productions.With a deep-seated passion for both creative arts and business, I decided to combine these interests in 2024 and fully commit to InkTread.
